Advaya capital acquires comscore movies and restores rentrak name

Advaya Capital has completed its acquisition of Comscore Movies for about $70 million in cash. The investment firm is renaming the box office analytics division Rentrak.

Private equity firm Advaya Capital completed the purchase of Comscore’s box office analytics division for about $70 million in cash. The division collects transaction-level data from about 34,000 theaters and more than 200,000 screens across 70-plus countries, covering about 95% of the global box office and nearly 100% of the North American box office.
