The CW drama All American returned Monday with the first two episodes of its eighth and final season. The premiere ended on a major cliffhanger centered on Amina.
Amina, played by Alexis Chikaeze, unexpectedly returns home to Crenshaw from her upstate boarding school. Only KJ, portrayed by Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, knows the details of her situation.
In the closing scene, Amina tells KJ, "It's bad. It's really bad," and adds that she does not know what to do once her father finds out. The episode cuts to credits as KJ embraces her.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll said the secret will spill over and affect almost everyone's lives this season. She also noted that upcoming flashbacks will show how KJ and Amina grew close over the past six months.
Elsewhere in the premiere, Jordan and Cassius begin planning a joint football combine for players from Beverly and Crenshaw. Carroll indicated that episodes three and four will test their newly formed bond.
