Singer Anitta announced her brother Renan Machado's release from detention at Paris airport in France after his passport was stolen. The matter was resolved with assistance from the Brazilian consulate and embassy, according to the artist. Influencer Hariany Almeida, Renan's girlfriend, claimed First Lady Janja helped issue a new passport.
Singer Anitta used her Instagram stories on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to update on her brother Renan Machado's detention at Paris airport after his passport was stolen. The issue arose when Renan's jacket, containing the passport, was stolen during baggage x-ray inspection. Without the document, he was barred from continuing travel or leaving the secure area, resulting in detention by local authorities. Anitta had earlier sought help on social media, citing contact difficulties. She later confirmed resolution: “We got a lot of help from the consulate, the Brazilian embassy, it's resolved. He's already being released, it's been proven,” she said. “We proved everything, he's already issuing a new passport and will be released. Thanks to everyone who helped,” she added. Renan and Hariany were connecting in Europe to meet Anitta for her birthday celebration. Ex-BBB influencer Hariany Almeida, Renan's girlfriend, stated that First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, known as Janja, assisted in liberating a new passport. “Janja helped liberate a new passport for him (Renan Machado) today, I'm going to the consulate to pick it up to get him out of there,” Hariany said on Instagram. Anitta emphasized the situation is normalized and warned about risks of traveling without documentation. Renan has started the process for a new passport and will not remain detained.
