Amhara region chief Arega Kebede described the Ethiopia Tamrit Movement as a phase of economic struggle to protect national sovereignty during its regional closing event in Kombolcha.
Amhara regional president Arega Kebede addressed the regional closing program of the Ethiopia Tamrit Movement held in Kombolcha town. He stated that the movement represents an economic struggle phase aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty through self-reliant production. Kebede noted that the initiative shifts the economy from mere consumption toward using domestic resources and capacity for local manufacturing. Industry Minister Melaku Alebel added that regional products mainly substitute imports and target export markets. Although industrial development has recorded changes in recent years, challenges such as power supply shortages, infrastructure gaps, and limited finance persist in the sector.
