Aspirations Festival advocates for Madura salt farmers welfare

Commission I DPR RI member Slamet Ariyadi held the Aspirations Festival in Bangkalan Madura on July 6 2026 to advocate for the welfare of salt farmers.

The event organized by the DPR RI Community Aspirations Agency served as a dialogue space between salt farmers local government and academics.

Various aspirations were conveyed including price fluctuations trade systems capital access production technology modernization and protection from imported salt.

Slamet Ariyadi stressed that Madura salt is part of community identity that must be protected through pro-farmer policies.

He stated salt farmers are food heroes and the national salt self-sufficiency target requires strengthening production centers in Madura.
