The Atlanta Hawks recalled rookie forward Asa Newell from their G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, on Sunday. Newell had just played in a G League game the previous day, contributing to a win over the Delaware Blue Coats. He is available for the Hawks' matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, though his playing time remains uncertain.

Asa Newell, a first-round draft pick, was brought back to the NBA by the Atlanta Hawks after a brief stint with the College Park Skyhawks in the G League. The recall occurred on Sunday, as reported by Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network.

Newell participated in the Skyhawks' game on Saturday against the Delaware Blue Coats, which ended in a 113-108 victory for College Park. In 27 minutes of action, the rookie tallied 14 points on 7-of-11 field goal shooting, including 0-of-1 from three-point range. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out one assist, and recorded one block.

With the recall, Newell joins the Hawks' roster ahead of their game versus the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday. While he is eligible to play, there is no assurance of significant minutes for the newcomer.
