Bob Dylan loses guitarist Bob Britt after abrupt exit

Bob Britt, a guitarist in Bob Dylan’s band since 2019, has left the group. The departure comes just two weeks after Doug Lancio exited the lineup.

Britt announced the news over the weekend with a Facebook post that read “Sayonara Bobby,” accompanied by an image of a flight from Austin to Nashville. In comments, he confirmed to a fan that he had quit.

In a follow-up message, Britt stated he was not fired and left voluntarily for private reasons. He expressed missing his band mates and crew while looking forward to session work and completing Etta’s gospel record.

The next Dylan show is scheduled at Austin’s Moody Amphitheater. Julian Lage, who recently joined as a replacement, is unavailable due to a prior commitment in Brooklyn on June 29. Remaining known members include bassist Tony Garnier and drummer Anton Fig.
