Luis Gamaliel Mares Chiquito, a graduate of Universidad Tecnológica de León, disappeared on the night of June 24. He was last seen at a bus stop near the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad del Bajío.
His family filed a missing person report on June 26. That afternoon, residents discovered his body in the Fracciones de Santa Julia neighborhood. It showed stab wounds.
The Fiscalía General del Estado de Guanajuato opened an investigation. The agency confirmed the victim's identity and notified his family, whom it is supporting.
