The Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants each selected a player with notable baseball lineage during the first round of the 2026 MLB Draft on Saturday.
The Brewers took Corona High School shortstop Trey Ebel at No. 25 overall. The 17-year-old is the son of Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel and the younger brother of Brady Ebel, whom Milwaukee drafted No. 32 last year.
The White Sox chose shortstop Landon Thome, son of Hall of Famer Jim Thome, with the No. 34 pick. The 18-year-old from Nazareth Academy hit .535 with seven home runs and stole 49 bases this season.
The Giants selected outfielder Peyton Bonds, nephew of Barry Bonds and grandson of Bobby Bonds, at No. 90. The 20-year-old Rutgers product posted a .352/.436/.535 slash line this spring before a hamstring injury.
