CAF Women's Champions League group stage nears conclusion

The group stage of the CAF Women's Champions League finals wraps up on Saturday in Egypt, with all eight teams vying for semi-final spots. Key matches include battles for qualification in both groups, as teams like Masar and ASEC Mimosas aim to secure advancement.

The CAF Women's Champions League finals reach their decisive group stage finale on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Egypt. All eight participating teams will play to determine the semi-final qualifiers.

In Group A, Masar leads with four points from two games, ahead of AS FAR on goal difference. USFAS Bamako, making their tournament debut, sit third with one win and one loss; a victory over host Masar at 3pm CAT would secure their knockout place. Meanwhile, AS FAR, last year's finalists and tied on points with Masar, face 15 de Agosto de Akonibe at 4pm CAT. The Equatorial Guinea side has zero points from two losses and plays for pride, as qualification is out of reach.

Group B sees ASEC Mimosas atop with one win and one draw from their debut campaign. They host Gaborone United at 6pm CAT; a draw suffices for ASEC's progression, while Gaborone, with one point, needs a six-goal win and favorable results elsewhere. The spotlight falls on JKT Queens versus reigning champions TP Mazembe, also at 6pm CAT. JKT Queens hold a one-point lead after two 1-1 draws, including an early goal by Ester Maseke in the 8th minute against ASEC Mimosas—their earliest at the finals. A win would mark JKT's first semi-final appearance and first tournament victory.

TP Mazembe, after an opening loss to ASEC Mimosas, rebounded with a 3-0 win over Gaborone United—their second-largest margin. Goals came from Marlene Kasaj Yav, Elena Obono, and Kgaelebane Mohlakoana, the first South African to score for a foreign club at the finals. A win or draw advances TP Mazembe, potentially making them the third defending champions to reach the last four. JKT's Donisia Daniel Minja has created four chances, third-most in the tournament, while goalkeeper Najiati Abass Idrisa has 12 saves.

These matches will decide the semi-finalists, with progression scenarios hinging on results and goal differences.
