Background on Monster Hunter Wilds Issues
Monster Hunter Wilds faced significant criticism for technical problems on PC earlier in 2025, with players reporting poor performance even on high-end hardware. Capcom acknowledged these issues and announced optimizations in Title Update 4, set for December 16, 2025. This update includes CPU and GPU improvements and introduces the Elder Dragon Gogmazios, along with new weapons and armor sets. In August, Capcom stated, "To our hunters playing [Monster Hunter Wilds] on PC, we’re committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game."
Capcom's Assurance for Resident Evil Requiem
During a Q&A in its recent earnings report, Capcom addressed concerns about Resident Evil Requiem potentially suffering similar PC woes. "Resident Evil Requiem differs from Monster Hunter Wilds in terms of gameplay, system architecture, and network features," the company explained. "At present, we do not anticipate similar risks. We are developing the game to provide a smooth gaming experience across a wide range of PC specifications."
The ninth mainline Resident Evil game originally started as an online multiplayer open-world title but was reworked to emphasize horror elements. Producer Masato Kumazawa noted, "Looking at the game when it was multiplayer, the horror part was very mild... we thought [fans] probably wouldn't enjoy it as much."
