BBC commissions 'The Claudia Winkleman Show' chat series for 2026

Claudia Winkleman is to host a new seven-episode chat show, titled 'The Claudia Winkleman Show', on BBC One and iPlayer from spring 2026. Produced by So Television—with input from Little Owl—the series will feature discussions with stars from film, TV, music and more, before a live studio audience. It follows her departure from Strictly Come Dancing and recent MBE honour.

The BBC has commissioned 'The Claudia Winkleman Show', a new talk show to be hosted by Claudia Winkleman, with a seven-episode run scheduled for spring 2026 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The format, produced by So Television (makers of The Graham Norton Show) in collaboration with Little Owl, will see Winkleman in conversation with prominent figures from entertainment industries in front of a live audience. Executive producers include Graham Stuart and Ruth Phillips, with BBC commissioning editor Neil McCallum and entertainment head Kalpna Patel-Knight overseeing. ITV Studios will manage international distribution. News was first reported by Deadline.

Winkleman, famed for hosting The Traitors (new series from 1 January 2026) and co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing with Tess Daly for over a decade until recently stepping away, said: "I can't quite believe it and I'm incredibly grateful to the BBC for this amazing opportunity. I'm obviously going to be awful, that goes without saying, but I'm over the moon they're letting me try."

Patel-Knight praised her: "Claudia is a true national treasure—warm, witty and endlessly entertaining. She has an extraordinary ability to put people at ease and bring out the very best in them, whether they're global superstars or members of the audience."

Graham Stuart, So Television managing director, added: "Graham Norton has made the Friday night talk show slot a dazzling appointment to view. How can you possibly follow that? By booking a host equally as brilliant. So we have."

Winkleman recently received an MBE from King Charles III for services to broadcasting at Windsor Castle, joined by family including her mother Eve Pollard. She shared on Instagram: "An incredible morning and an enormous honour. I'm speechless."

She has relevant experience, including guest-hosting The Graham Norton Show in February, and presenting BBC Radio 2's Saturday morning show from February 2021 for nearly three years.
