Dragon's Dogma 2 devs surprised players prioritize fashion

Capcom developers behind Dragon's Dogma 2 expressed surprise at how many players focus on customizing their characters' appearances over optimizing equipment stats.

Game director Kento Kinoshita discussed the feedback during an interview about the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion. He said the team initially assumed players concentrated on the realistic adventure aspects of the game.

Kinoshita noted that feedback revealed a strong preference for fashionable items and additional ways to dress up characters. "We just assumed people were more focused on the realistic adventure, but there were many people who asked for more fashionable items and more ways to dress up in the game," he stated.

The expansion, set for release later this year, will add new armors and 21 new hairstyles. These updates aim to address player requests for better customization options in the base game.
