EA to remove paid progression from College Football 27

EA Sports announced it will remove paid progression features from College Football 27 this weekend after player backlash on Steam.

College Football 27 launched on Steam earlier this week as the first entry in the series available on PC. Players quickly criticized the addition of paid options for progression in the Road to Glory and Dynasty modes, which had previously been free.

EA Sports responded on July 11 with a statement acknowledging the feedback. The company said the paid features were intended to give players more choices but did not add the intended value.

The developer confirmed the paid progression elements will be removed this weekend. EA also pledged greater transparency with live service features in future College Football titles.

As of the announcement, 70 percent of Steam reviews rated the game Mostly Negative.
