Egypt Agriculture Minister Outlines Steps to Combat High Feed Prices

Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk announced a package of measures to address challenges in the livestock and poultry sectors during an international conference.

The minister spoke at the inaugural First International Conference for the Sustainable Development of Livestock, Poultry, and Fish Wealth, organised by the Agricultural Research Center in cooperation with the General Syndicate of Veterinarians.

The measures include expanding fodder crop production, supporting non-traditional feed alternatives, encouraging local manufacturing, and providing soft financing.

Farouk noted that funding for the National Veal Revival Project has exceeded 11.2bn EGP, benefiting more than 46,000 breeders.
