Egypt and Pakistan discuss expanding defence industry cooperation

Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production held talks with Pakistan’s ambassador to Cairo to explore expanding defence industry cooperation. The discussions centred on technology transfer and knowledge exchange. The meeting took place at the ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

Salah Gamblat highlighted the longstanding historical relations between Egypt and Pakistan. He reviewed the ministry’s activities and its advanced defence products that meet international quality standards, along with civilian goods produced through surplus capacity.

Pakistan’s ambassador praised Egypt’s manufacturing and technological capabilities. He expressed hope for deeper partnerships and invited Gamblat to attend the IDEAS 2026 international defence industries exhibition scheduled for November.

The meeting was attended by Tarek Bekhit, Vice Chairperson of the National Authority for Military Production, along with other ministry officials and embassy staff including the Pakistani military attaché.
