Egypt’s Vaccine City and Biotechnology project is expected to attract investments worth EGP 12bn by 2030, according to the Minister of Health and Population.
Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar visited the facility in Ismailia Governorate. He described the project as a model of partnership between the government, Egyptian investors and international partners, and said it strengthens sustainable health security.
The minister called the initiative a matter of national security and said it is expected to create around 1,500 jobs. He noted the adoption of a One Health approach and the use of solar and other clean energy sources.
Delegates toured the training academy and three production lines with a combined annual capacity of 140 million vaccine doses. They also visited specialised cold-storage facilities covering 9,000 square metres.
