Elon Musk shared the film Citizen Vigilante on X on Friday. The post made the movie available to his 240 million followers for 48 hours before the link went dark on Saturday.
The action film, directed and written by German filmmaker Uwe Boll, stars Armie Hammer as a wealthy American businessman who hunts down violent criminals and corrupt judges in Croatia. It was released in the U.S. on June 19 and has been banned in Germany for its depictions of violence and anti-migrant themes.
Boll announced on X that a sequel, Citizen Vigilante 2, will release in 2027. Musk replied to a post about the film charting on Apple TV, writing that the sequel will be even better.
Hammer previously appeared in films including The Social Network and Call Me By Your Name. His career faced setbacks in 2021 after allegations of sexual assault, which he denied; prosecutors declined to file charges in 2023.
