Ghaziabad administration issues encroachment notice to suspect's family

A day after the main suspect in a Ghaziabad teen murder case was killed in an encounter, officials served an encroachment notice on his father's house, stating it stands on government land.

The Ghaziabad district administration pasted the notice on Monday outside the two-storey house owned by Nawab, father of Asad. Asad was the main suspect in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old on May 28. The notice, issued under Section 136 of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code, 2006, directs removal of the alleged illegal occupation within 15 days.

Officials said the owner had illegally occupied a portion of government land. The notice states that failure to comply will lead to legal action and removal of the encroachment at the owner's expense. Efforts are ongoing to clear such violations in the area.

Nawab is also an accused in the murder case, in which five people have been booked. Neighbours claimed the house was sold around eight months ago and the family now stays nearby on rent. Security remains heightened in the locality following the incident.
