American Talor Gooch shot a 63 to grab the 36-hole lead at eight-under at LIV Golf Korea in Busan on Friday.
Gooch made eight birdies and one bogey at the par-70 Asiad Country Club. He is chasing his first win since July 2025 and a $4 million prize.
Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau followed his opening 65 with a 68 to sit one shot back at seven-under.
South Korean rookie Mun Do-yeob carded his second straight 68 to stand at four-under, tied for eighth. "I had a lot of fun playing today," Mun said. "We still have two more days to play."
Gooch's OKGC leads the team standings at 14-under, one ahead of DeChambeau's Crushers. Korean Golf Club sits tied for seventh at even par.
