Gorillaz reveals tracklist and details for album The Mountain

British band Gorillaz has announced the tracklist and release details for their ninth studio album, The Mountain. The project, described by frontman Damon Albarn as a paradigm shift, features collaborations with artists like Paul Simonon and Johnny Marr. It is set for release on February 27, 2026.

Gorillaz, the influential British alt-rock band formed in 1998, is preparing to release The Mountain, their latest album that draws from various music genres. The album's development began several years ago, with frontman Damon Albarn discussing it at Coachella in 2023. There, Albarn called it a “paradigm shift,” noting it would take the band “somewhere they’ve never been before.”

Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett traveled to India afterward, an experience that influenced the album's music and artwork. The Mountain maintains Gorillaz's tradition of featuring notable collaborators on each track, including Paul Simonon from The Clash, Johnny Marr from The Smiths, and Black Thought from The Roots.

The tracklist includes 15 main songs: The Mountain, The Moon Cave, The Happy Dictator, The Hardest Thing, Orange County, The God of Lying, The Empty Dream, The Manifesto, The Plastic Guru, Delirium, Damascus, The Shadowy Light, Casablanca, The Sweet Prince, and The Sad God. Bonus tracks are Bolly Noir, Noah’s Descendants, The Mountain (alternate version), and Meri Sapno Ki Rani.

The album will be available on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, starting at 9:00 p.m. PST on February 26, 2026, or 12:00 a.m. EST on February 27. This marks Gorillaz's ninth album, following releases like Cracker Island in 2023, Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez in 2020, and earlier works dating back to their self-titled debut in 2001.
