Lewis Hamilton has been summoned by stewards after finishing third in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Ferrari driver faces a potential penalty for failing to respect yellow flags during the race.
Lewis Hamilton and a Ferrari team representative were called before the British Grand Prix stewards to address a possible breach of yellow flag regulations.
The incident occurred at 4:03:34 BST after Audi driver Nico Hulkenberg stopped on the approach to the National Pit Straight. Hamilton was battling Max Verstappen at the time, having overtaken him on lap 38.
Hamilton appeared before the stewards at 5:00pm BST immediately after the podium ceremony. He told Sky Sports F1 that he expects a penalty and will likely lose his podium result.
"I'm probably going to get a penalty right now as well, so I'll probably lose it. I went through a yellow flag and I didn't see it," Hamilton said. The race concluded behind the safety car, meaning even a five-second time penalty would drop him from third to 14th.
