A helicopter carrying three people crashed onto a tennis court in Buenos Aires' Palermo neighborhood, injuring the occupants. The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Jerónimo Salguero 3400. Emergency teams responded swiftly, aiding the victims on site.
The crash involved a Robinson R44 helicopter, a light aircraft popular for training and short transfers, owned by Hangar Servicios. According to SAME sources, the aircraft carried the pilot and two passengers—a man and a woman—who were injured after impacting the tennis courts of Parque Manuel Belgrano, formerly KDT. The helicopter was completely destroyed due to a technical failure, as explained by emergency teams.
The occupants managed to exit on their own and were found conscious. The pilot has the most severe injuries, while one passenger suffered polytrauma and the woman is in good general condition. They received on-site aid from firefighters and SAME before being transferred to Hospital Fernández.
The incident, which took place in front of the National Directorate of Health Emergencies (Dinesa) headquarters, prompted a major emergency response and preventive cordoning of the area at Jerónimo Salguero 3400. "At the moment, they are being assisted by firefighters and SAME. The situation is under control," stated health services. This helicopter model has been involved in prior incidents, such as the fatal accident of Chilean ex-president Sebastián Piñera in 2024.
The area, surrounded by tennis courts and sports clubs, saw a massive deployment to stabilize the situation within minutes, preventing further complications.
