Ilja Dragunov expected back on WWE television sooner than later

WWE wrestler Ilja Dragunov is set to return to television in the near future after an absence that began in April.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that Dragunov, known as "The Mad Dragon," is expected to be back on WWE television sooner than later.

Dragunov last competed on the April 17 edition of WWE SmackDown. He has remained active in training during his time off, working alongside Natalya and TJ Wilson at their Dungeon 2.0 facility in Florida.

His previous run included winning the United States Championship from Sami Zayn in October before dropping the title to Carmelo Hayes in December. His most recent in-ring appearance came in the 2026 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

The reason for his current absence from programming remains unknown.
