Scatena & Rosner Films has acquired North American, Australian and New Zealand rights to the indie LGBTQ dramedy Actual Nobodies. The film, written and directed by Alex Wyse, was picked up at this year's Cannes Market. A U.S. release is planned for early 2027.
Germany’s Media Luna New Films secured rights for remaining territories worldwide. Wyse makes his solo feature directorial debut with the story of two lonely outsiders who form an unexpected bond.
The cast is led by Didi Conn and Austin P. McKenzie, with supporting performances from Greta Quispe, Paul Lieber, Will Chase, Jason Veasey, Olli Haaskivi and David T. Patterson. The film was shot on location in New Jersey.
Wyse said the project explores people who feel invisible and the ways they connect. Scatena & Rosner Films called it elevated independent cinema that makes audiences feel something, while Media Luna New Films highlighted its emotional authenticity and universal themes.
Producer Cody Lassen noted the film connected with audiences from the first screenings. Wyse previously collaborated with Lassen on the horror-comedy Summoning Sylvia.
