Kin Ethiopia troupe travels to Kenya to honor Adwa Victory

The Ministry of Culture and Sports has sent the Kin Ethiopia Food and Culture Troupe to Kenya today to honor Adwa Victory Day. This group has previously promoted Ethiopian culture and cuisine in various countries. The trip marks a significant cultural exchange.

On February 27, 2018, in Addis Ababa, the Ministry of Culture and Sports dispatched the Kin Ethiopia Food and Culture Troupe to Kenya. Led by Shakura Production and operating under the ministry's auspices, the troupe promotes Ethiopian culture and cuisine globally.

Minister of Culture and Sports, Deeta Nebiyu, stated in a press release: "Kin Ethiopia has previously carried out works to promote Ethiopian culture and food in various countries." The troupe, guided by the concept "Kin Ethiopia, a gallery of Ethiopian diversity," has performed food demonstrations in multiple venues in China, Japan, and Russia.

This journey aims to honor Adwa Victory Day, marking the first time the victory is commemorated at a government level outside Ethiopia, specifically in Kenya. The purpose is to celebrate Adwa as Africa's historic day of freedom and victory from Ethiopian leadership. In Kenya, the troupe will collaborate with Kenyan food experts, service bands, embassies, institutions, and NGOs for the Adwa Victory program. It particularly showcases Ethiopian coffee, clothing, teff, and diverse cultures.
