New York Knicks players Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns joined a WWE event at Madison Square Garden to mark their NBA championship win. The celebration came just over one month after the team ended a 53-year title drought in San Antonio. Brunson and Towns participated in matches and segments during the show.
Brunson main evented alongside Roman Reigns. He received a custom championship belt featuring a blue-and-orange stripe after an introduction that crowned him the "King of New York." Fans cheered and chanted for the point guard during the appearance.
Tyrese Haliburton interrupted the segment as a distraction. Seth Rollins then attacked Reigns, but Brunson intervened to help Reigns deliver a Superman punch and spear.
Earlier, Karl-Anthony Towns assisted Danhausen in a no-disqualification match. Towns delivered chokeslams to JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio, allowing Danhausen to win. Towns held up five fingers afterward to reference "Knicks in 5."
The event marked the first WWE Saturday Night's Main Event at the arena since 2007. Brunson has not yet competed physically in his WWE appearances due to a hand injury.
