Lamine Yamal has rejoined Spain's squad for training four days before their 2026 FIFA World Cup opener. The Barcelona forward missed recent matches due to a hamstring injury sustained in April.
Yamal trained with coach Luis de la Fuente's group on Thursday. He has not played since scoring a penalty in a win over Celta Vigo on April 22.
Spain plan for the 18-year-old to feature for 15 to 20 minutes against Cape Verde on Monday, according to reports. He is expected to play at least 30 minutes versus Saudi Arabia before starting against Uruguay.
Yamal has earned 23 caps for Spain and scored six goals. His contributions helped Spain win Euro 2024, where he was named Young Player of the Tournament.
Spain are considered favorites to claim the World Cup title. Several players including Alex Baena and Ferran Torres are available to cover Yamal's position on the right wing.
