Vocalist Lydia Rodríguez has announced her departure from Presuntos Implicados after 17 years, accusing the group of psychological mistreatment and extreme control.
Rodríguez, 46 and from Madrid, detailed on social media situations that included constant aesthetic pressure on her weight, clothing, makeup and hair. She said a manager told her: “When you go on stage, everyone has to want to fuck you”. She added that the control was so extreme that she lacked freedom of expression even on her personal social media.
The artist blamed members Juan Luis Giménez and Nacho Mañó, as well as the management team, for a lack of camaraderie. She noted that the situations were “fueled by the exaggerated ego” of the others and that she now understood the 2006 departure of previous singer Sole Giménez.
Nacho Mañó responded on his social media defending his honorability and lamenting the media coverage. He said he would not participate in interviews and would let “the music speak”. Rodríguez expressed excitement about her future and announced she is preparing new solo music.
