The Michael Jackson biopic Michael has reached $897.9 million globally after its seventh weekend, positioning it to surpass Lionsgate's previous top earners.
The Antoine Fuqua-directed film added $23.1 million worldwide during the weekend ending June 7. Domestic earnings stand at $354.2 million while international totals reach $543.7 million including Volga markets. Michael has already exceeded the lifetime grosses of Bohemian Rhapsody in multiple territories such as the UK, France, Germany, Brazil and Australia. It passed the $865 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and the $868.5 million of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 earlier in its run. Industry trackers expect the release to push the worldwide total past $900 million and potentially beyond Bohemian Rhapsody's $911 million finish.
