A 21-year-old Michigan resident has been found guilty of second-degree murder and felony firearm charges after fatally shooting his 63-year-old romantic partner and roommate during a domestic dispute last year.
Kayvon Briscoe-Hall was convicted on Wednesday by a Macomb County jury. The incident took place in October 2025 at the couple's home on Marr Avenue in Warren, a suburb of Detroit.
Prosecutors described the final argument as distinct from prior disagreements. They claimed Briscoe-Hall provoked the victim before firing three shots, two of which struck 63-year-old Roger Willie. Defense attorney Grace Crivello questioned whether the actions were justified or intentional but did not present a formal self-defense case.
A neighbor testified about earlier signs of hostility, including verbal arguments and a reported injury to Willie. Briscoe-Hall is scheduled for sentencing on August 19.
