Nifflas adds hidden dog rooms to rhythm doggo

Developer Nifflas has revealed that his upcoming game Rhythm Doggo includes a network of rooms inaccessible to players but populated by dog characters from completed levels.

The Swedish creator behind titles such as Knytt and Ynglet explained the feature on Bluesky. For coding simplicity the dogs are moved outside the main map rather than removed entirely. Nifflas said he felt bad leaving them in a void and instead created connected rooms where they can remain together.

He noted that the spaces exist outside the playable area and can only be reached through modding. No interaction code runs in this state yet the developer wondered whether the dogs might behave differently when unobserved.

Rhythm Doggo is described as a neon rhythm-driven puzzle platformer in which players control a human turned into a dog. No release date has been announced.
