Nigerian Guild of Editors to host 4th Lateef Jakande Memorial Lecture

The Nigerian Guild of Editors will host the 4th Lateef Jakande Memorial Lecture on July 23 2026 at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos.

The Nigerian Guild of Editors announced on July 6 2026 that it will host the lecture starting at 11 am.

The theme is “The Media, INEC, Voters and Path to Credible Elections.” Prof Sylvester Odion Akhaine will deliver the lecture while Dr Kayode Fayemi serves as chairman.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the chief host. Other expected attendees include Minister Mohammed Idris and former officials such as Segun Osoba.

The annual series began in 2023 to honor the legacy of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, a former guild president, Lagos governor and minister.
