Ninja Gaiden 4's The Two Masters DLC launches March 4

Team Ninja has announced that the first major expansion for Ninja Gaiden 4, titled The Two Masters, will release on March 4, 2026. The DLC adds new story chapters, weapons, and an endurance mode to the action game, which launched in October 2025. Owners of the Deluxe Edition or Upgrade receive it at no extra cost, while others can buy it for $14.99.

Ninja Gaiden 4, developed by Team Ninja, arrived in October 2025 as the latest entry in the long-running action franchise. The upcoming DLC, The Two Masters, serves as its first significant post-launch content, expanding the narrative and gameplay systems while introducing technical refinements.

The expansion includes three new story chapters that continue the plot after the base game's events. It follows protagonists Yakumo and Ryu Hayabusa in their ongoing battle against dangerous fiends, featuring additional enemy types and boss encounters. These missions emphasize the series' signature fast and technical combat, with heightened difficulty through new enemy patterns and scenarios.

New weapons tailored to each character's style are also added. Yakumo gains the Solitaire scythe, suited for wide-range attacks and crowd control in confined spaces. Ryu Hayabusa receives the Jakotsumon serpent gauntlets, enabling quick strikes and aggressive combinations for close-quarters fighting. These options aim to diversify playstyles and promote experimentation.

A key addition is Abyssal Road, an endurance mode with 100 consecutive combat encounters drawing from both the base game and DLC. It incorporates new mechanics, such as the Special Blood Essence system and Frenzied enemy states, to vary battle conditions and challenge skilled players.

The March 4, 2026, update brings quality-of-life improvements for all owners, including enhanced combat responsiveness, expanded weapon customization, balance tweaks, and bug fixes across chapters. The DLC requires the base game and is free for Deluxe Edition or Upgrade purchasers; standard owners pay $14.99.

According to the announcement, progress in the main campaign may be needed to access some content.
