Noah Kahan was forced to cancel his sold-out concert at Citi Field in Queens, New York, on Saturday due to heavy rain, severe thunderstorms and strong winds.
Stadium officials first pushed back the start time and removed opening acts, but ultimately canceled the event after some fans had arrived. "The show tonight at Citi Field has been canceled due to inclement weather," the stadium said. "This was a very difficult decision to make, but the first priority is always to keep everyone safe."
Kahan posted on social media that he had exhausted every option. "I am so incredibly sorry," he wrote. "We waited as long as we possibly could in hopes that the weather would clear, but it became clear that it wasn’t safe for us, the crew or all of you."
Kahan was scheduled to perform a second show at the venue on Sunday night, weather permitting. Nearby, Zeds Dead postponed its concert at Forest Hills Stadium until August for similar reasons.
