Odell Beckham Jr. reinstated after six-game suspension

Three-time Pro Bowl receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after serving a six-game suspension for violating performance-enhancing drug policies. The 33-year-old is now eligible to play and could sign with any team. Potential landing spots include the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.

Odell Beckham Jr., who turned 33 earlier this month, completed his suspension and is free to join a team immediately, according to NFL Media. During his time with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, he appeared in nine games, recording nine receptions for 55 yards. Beckham expressed in August his strong desire to continue his career, despite no longer being the explosive playmaker of his early years.

Beckham's NFL journey began with the New York Giants in 2014, where as a rookie he caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. He surpassed 1,300 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons and notched double-digit touchdowns annually. After 59 games with the Giants, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns, playing 29 games there with 114 receptions, 1,586 yards and seven touchdowns before his 2021 release.

He then joined the Los Angeles Rams mid-2021 season, contributing to their Super Bowl LVI victory. In the playoffs, Beckham had 21 catches on 26 targets for 288 yards and two touchdowns, including one in the Super Bowl before suffering an ACL tear. He missed the entire 2022 season and played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 alongside Lamar Jackson.

As teams eye playoff pushes, several could pursue Beckham. The Kansas City Chiefs, at 5-5, feature Patrick Mahomes and receivers like Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy but might add a veteran under Andy Reid. The Denver Broncos seek receiver depth for Bo Nix after Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant combined for 166 yards against the Chiefs. Pittsburgh Steelers, with only DK Metcalf over 250 receiving yards, face pressure from Baltimore. The 7-4 San Francisco 49ers deal with injuries to Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings. The Rams, with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams leading the passing game, have openings due to Tutu Atwell's injured reserve status and Xavier Smith's concussion protocol.
