An initial explosion at La Posada cafeteria, followed by another in the adjacent garage, caused a fire and partial collapse of the building's facade on Calle Conde Villamonte, near the bullring and a health center. The Andalusia 112 Emergency Coordination Center received calls around 5:20 p.m. reporting the incident, initially with at least four injured.
Emergency services deployed firefighters, Tedax specialists from the National Police, Local Police, and 061 medical units. One person died, while three were injured: the establishment's owner with severe burns admitted to Hospital Universitario Torrecárdenas, another with mild smoke inhalation also there, and a third evaluated at the bullring health center. According to La Voz de Almería, the fatality was a pedestrian passing in front of the premises.
Almería's mayor, María del Mar Vázquez Agüero, and the councilor for Traffic, Public Safety, and Emergencies, María del Mar García Lorca, attended the scene to oversee operations. Teams maintain a security cordon near the Hermandad de la Macarena headquarters, which was processing in the area.
