PINE64 releases PineVoice smart speaker for Home Assistant

PINE64 has introduced the PineVoice, a compact smart speaker designed to work with Home Assistant instead of major voice assistants. The device is now available for purchase at a community price of $49.99.

The PineVoice serves as a voice satellite for Home Assistant, relying on local processing rather than cloud services. It features a Bouffalo Lab BL606P RISC-V chip, dual microphones, a speaker, and a hardware mute switch.

Wake word detection uses the local MicroWakeWord system with the "Hey Jarvis" model. The device connects via WiFi and Bluetooth, and communicates with Home Assistant through the Wyoming Protocol.

Measuring 65 mm on each side, the speaker includes an LED ring for status indicators and ships with a USB-C cable. PINE64 provides a 30-day warranty and has made the firmware source code available on Codeberg.
