Riot Games announces Riftbound: Unleashed TCG set for 2026

Riot Games has revealed Riftbound: Unleashed, the third expansion for the Riftbound: League of Legends trading card game. The set launches in China on April 10, 2026, and in English-speaking regions on May 8, 2026, featuring over 220 cards and more than 30 alternate arts.

Riot Games announced Riftbound: Unleashed on March 17, 2026, introducing new elements to its League of Legends trading card game. This third set explores the jungles of Runeterra with Champion Legends such as Master Yi, Diana, Vi, Pyke, Kha’Zix, Lillia, and Ivern. These champions represent hidden strength and patient transformation, as a spokesperson explained: “Champions like Master Yi, Diana, Vi and Pyke embody this idea of hidden strength and patient transformation. Each has walked a solitary path, shaped not in the spotlight, but in silence.” The spokesperson added that their power “lurks, builds and erupts when the moment is right.” Kha’Zix notably gains and spends XP for unique effects, tying into new mechanics: Ambush, XP, and Hunt. Ambush allows cards to enter as reactions on battlefields with units, enabling surprise reinforcements. XP serves as a buildable resource that converts to Levels, benefiting related cards, while Hunt cards earn XP by conquering or holding battlefields. New tokens include Baron Pit (from Baron Nashor), Birds with Deflect, Reflections that copy other cards, and temporary Sprites that die at the start of the Beginning phase. A standout is the new Ultimate Rarity, an Overnumbered card appearing in less than 1% of packs; this set's sole example is Baron Nashor. “Ultimate Rares will not appear in every Riftbound set going forward; we’re saving it for those truly special cards,” the spokesperson noted. To preview the set, Sydeon, Disguised Toast, Scarra, and Yvonne played a showcase match debuting new Legends, units, spells, and keywords. “Unleashed expands Riftbound with new Champion Legends, bold mechanics, and powerful plays that reward those who bide their time… then strike when it matters most,” the spokesperson concluded.
