Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García announced a 7.5% salary increase for state workers, effective retroactively from January 1, to recognize their daily contributions to public administration.
"It is to close gaps and recognize the work of all", she stated, underscoring principles of labor justice and equity. Women workers earning less than two minimum wages will receive 9.5%, aimed at reducing the gender pay gap and boosting their economic autonomy.
Police officers will get a 15% raise, also retroactive to the start of the year, honoring their role in building peace and security in the state.
State teachers will receive an adjustment matching the federal decision on May 15, to ensure fair and aligned wages. Nahle emphasized Veracruz's progress in socially oriented labor policies that prioritize lower earners.
