Authorities continue operations on Friday to locate the crew member of the boat Maule Bravo who fell and disappeared on Thursday in the La Barra area.
Subteniente Litoral Priscila Jiménez reported that two maritime units, a rubber boat and patrols were deployed north and south of the river mouth immediately after the emergency. On Friday an aeromaritime exploration plane from the Grupo Aeronaval de Talcahuano joined the effort along with civilian organizations.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon while the crew member was engaged in artisanal fishing. The Capitanía de Puerto de Constitución received the alert that same night. The remaining crew members of the Maule Bravo reached port safely, according to the Fiscalía del Maule.
The Public Ministry opened an investigation and directed the participation of the Armada and the Policía de Investigaciones, including the Brigada de Homicidios de Linares and experts from the Laboratorio de Criminalística de Talca.
