Sheetal Malviya, 20, and her brother Kuldeep Malviya, 19, were on their way to an examination center when they were intercepted by their uncle Harisingh Malviya and his son, who attacked them with sticks.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Shukla told reporters that the siblings sustained severe injuries and died at the spot. Harisingh and the victims' father, Jagdish, are brothers who have been embroiled in a long-standing land dispute. The altercation stemmed from this property disagreement.
Police stated that the two accused have been taken into custody, the bodies sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway. The site is about 70 km from the district headquarters. This case highlights the tensions arising from family property disputes.
