Spanish PC maker Slimbook has unveiled the KDE Slimbook VII, a high-end Linux laptop celebrating eight years of partnership with the KDE project. The device features an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor and up to 128 GB of RAM. It is available for pre-order starting at €1,029.
Slimbook, a Linux hardware vendor based in Spain, announced the KDE Slimbook VII on November 19, 2025, to mark eight years of collaboration with the KDE project, which began in 2017. This partnership has focused on creating optimized notebooks for the KDE Plasma desktop environment. The new model ships with KDE Neon, a GNU/Linux distribution featuring the latest Plasma desktop.
The laptop is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, a 10-core, 20-thread chip with integrated 12-core Radeon 880M graphics. It supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM across two SODIMM slots and up to 16 TB of storage via two M.2 slots for PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. The base configuration includes 16 GB RAM and a 500 GB SSD.
Key features include a 16-inch IPS LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB color coverage, 400 nits brightness, and 16:10 aspect ratio. The aluminum chassis comes in slate-blue, measures 357 x 249 x 20 mm, and weighs 1.86 kg. It has an 83 Wh battery, a backlit multi-language keyboard with number pad, 720p webcam, dual microphones, four speakers, and dual fans for cooling with dedicated power mode keys.
Connectivity options encompass Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports (supporting 10 Gbps, 100W USB-PD, and DisplayPort 1.4), one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, and an HDMI port. Note that port specifications vary slightly between reports: one source lists three USB-A ports and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, while another details two Gen 2 Type-C and one Gen 1 Type-A.
Pre-orders are available now from Slimbook's online store at €1,029 ($1,190 USD), a €70 discount from the retail starting price of €1,099 ($1,270 USD), with shipments beginning in December 2025.
