Social organizations denounce Danica Violet ship carrying arms to Israel

The Campaign to End Arms Trade with Israel and Rescop warned on Sunday that the Danica Violet ship will cross the Strait of Gibraltar carrying military material bound for Israel.

According to a statement issued by the groups, the Danica Violet is carrying 60 tons of missile components and artillery guns destined for the Elbit Systems plant in Yokneam. Operated by Danish company H. Folmer & Co., the vessel left Chennai port on 28 March and is expected to reach the strait in the early hours of Monday.

The organizations base their alert on an investigation by The Ditch and recall that the ship was previously denied entry to a Spanish port in May 2025. They urge the government to block transit through Spanish territorial waters and to approve amendments to the September 2025 royal decree for a full arms embargo on Israel.

Other vessels from the same fleet have faced prior complaints in Spanish ports, including the Danica Sunrise in February 2025 and the Marianne Danica in May 2024.
