Reality TV star Spencer Pratt took the debate stage in Los Angeles, ripping into incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman over their records. The primary election is scheduled for June 2, with a possible general election on November 3, 2026. Pratt has been vocal since the Palisades Fire destroyed his home last year.
Pratt, famous from The Hills and married to Heidi Montag, criticized Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom for their wildfire handling at the Skirball Cultural Center debate. He has called for Bass to resign and kept up the pressure during the event. Bass, elected in November 2022 after serving in Congress, is finishing her first term. Raman, in her second council term representing District 4, graduated from Harvard and MIT.
