The cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 turned heads on the red carpet at the film's world premiere in New York on April 20. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and others wore striking outfits nodding to the movie's fashion legacy. The event capped a global press tour filled with high-style appearances.
New York, April 20 – Meryl Streep arrived at Lincoln Center in a red caped gown by Givenchy, designed by Sarah Burton, complete with avant-garde opera gloves and David Yurman jewelry. Her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, called it Streep's boldest look of the press tour. “I knew going into this moment that I wanted it to be her boldest look of the press tour yet, and I definitely feel like we achieved that here,” Erlanger said. The outfit balanced clean lines with unexpected materials for a powerful, contemporary feel, she added. Streep had previously worn a red Dolce & Gabbana suit in Mexico City and a cerulean J.Crew sweater on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Anne Hathaway donned a custom red tea-length Louis Vuitton dress by Nicolas Ghesquière, featuring a corset with pointed cups and a drop-waist skirt, paired with red platform sandals and Bvlgari jewelry. Her stylist Erin Walsh noted the attention on the tour: “I’m aware of the eyeballs on it.” Earlier stops included thigh-high Stella McCartney boots in Mexico City and a fringed Sacai knit in Tokyo, both referencing her character Andy Sachs. Emily Blunt made her first appearance for the sequel in a Schiaparelli spring 2026 couture gown with a raffia bodice and tiered skirt, designed by Daniel Roseberry, who also dressed her for the 2024 Oscars. She accessorized with Mikimoto jewelry, including a necklace of 156 Akoya cultured pearls accented by diamonds and rose gold, plus bracelets with 243 more pearls. The premiere followed press stops in Mexico City, Tokyo and Shanghai, where cast members like Simone Ashley wore cerulean-inspired looks. A London premiere is set for Wednesday. The original film's red carpet 20 years ago was more subdued, as Streep recalled: “Well, everybody was afraid of Anna on the first one, so we couldn’t find any clothes.”
