Sun Country Airlines to resume Eau Claire to Las Vegas route

Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines has extended its booking schedule through mid-December 2026, aiming to boost service to key fall destinations. The carrier plans to relaunch flights between Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Las Vegas, Nevada, following the success of another winter route. This move supports increased travel opportunities during popular Minnesota vacation periods.

Sun Country Airlines, an ultra-low-cost carrier based in Minnesota, announced this week an extension of its booking schedule through mid-December 2026. The decision focuses on enhancing service to several destinations from Minneapolis, including Boston; Portland, Maine; Syracuse, New York; Burlington, Vermont; Las Vegas; Phoenix; and Orlando and Fort Myers in Florida. These routes are already operational on a year-round or seasonal basis.

A key addition is the resumption of service between Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Las Vegas. Sun Country last operated this route in the fall of 2024. The relaunch decision stems from the strong performance of its winter service between Eau Claire and Fort Myers. No specific start date for the Eau Claire-Las Vegas flights has been provided.

“We’re excited to offer increased opportunities for travel during some of Minnesota’s most popular vacation weekends, including MEA [school break] and Thanksgiving,” said Colton Snow, Sun Country’s chief commercial officer, in a news release. “By extending our schedule and focusing on destinations our customers consistently choose for fall getaways, we’re making it easier than ever for Minnesotans to plan ahead and secure affordable, nonstop travel.”

Officials noted that additional flights could be added to the fall 2026 schedule in the coming months. Sun Country currently operates more than 115 routes across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The airline is slated for acquisition by Allegiant later in 2026, in a deal valuing it at about $1.5 billion, expected to close in the second half of the year.
