The Bear to end with fifth season, Jamie Lee Curtis says

Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed that the FX series The Bear will conclude with its fifth season. The actress, a recurring guest star, shared insights from the set and an interview where she addressed fan speculation about the show's finale. FX has not yet commented on the matter.

The popular FX series The Bear, created by Christopher Storer, is set to wrap up after its upcoming fifth season, according to Jamie Lee Curtis. The show, which premiered in 2022 and aired its fourth season in June 2025, follows the story of a dysfunctional family running a Chicago sandwich shop. Curtis, who plays Donna Berzatto, recently posted a photo on social media with co-star Abby Elliott from the Season 5 set. In the caption, she wrote, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Curtis addressed the buzz around her post. When a reporter noted that people interpreted it as confirmation of the show's end, she replied, “But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal]. Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.”

The ensemble cast includes Jeremy Allen White as Carmen Berzatto, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson, Oliver Platt, and Molly Gordon, alongside Elliott and Curtis. Executive producers are Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matheson, Hiro Murai, and Rene Gube, with Courtney Storer serving as co-executive producer and culinary producer. The series is produced by FX Productions.

FX did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment on whether Season 5 marks the end of The Bear. The announcement has sparked discussions among fans eager to see the resolution of the characters' arcs.
