REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – Thousands of Bandung residents attended the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayer at Bandung City Hall on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The event proceeded solemnly with full gratitude, led by imam and khatib KH Ahmad Parizi from Pesantren Nagreg. Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan spoke before the prayer, stating, “We are grateful this morning to breathe the air with full gratitude. We look around with admiration for the grace, mercy, and blessings from Allah SWT.” He stressed the importance of guarding the heart from negative traits and strengthening good intentions in daily life. Farhan also invited residents to offer apologies both inwardly and outwardly, staying away from bad intentions, injustice, and greed. He described Eid al-Fitr as a special annual event where Muslims express gratitude through their best attire and family feasts. “This becomes a collective joy that brings extraordinary social movement,” he said. After the prayer, the event continued with an open gelar griya until 11:00 WIB. Farhan noted that it followed the central government's advice against excessive open houses, keeping it simple without special food.
