Fontaines D.C. drummer Tom Coll has started Inis Records, an independent label and record store focused solely on Irish music. He founded it with Michael Roe and Ken Allen.
The label aims to release new music from Irish artists along with reissues of out-of-print records. It will also offer distribution services for other independent labels.
Inis Records launches with a new edition of the 1989 album Against Nature by The Fatima Mansions. Additional projects planned for later this year include a traditional Irish music compilation and a collection of showband recordings.
Coll said the label seeks to build independent infrastructure in Ireland. Roe added that it will support new artists and help them reach international audiences.
The store already stocks releases by Fontaines D.C., Gilla Band, Just Mustard and others.
